Infogrames Interview
Splash: 2000 saw a lot of people in the industry saying the PC was dying, yet 2001 is going to see the release of some of the most ground breaking titles that have ever existed. Are the PC's days really numbered?
Ian: I really don't think so. With every new generation of consoles that comes along, from the SNES to the PS2, there always seems to be a chorus of doomsayers predicting the demise of the PC as a viable gaming platform, but it never quite seems to happen, and I sincerely doubt that it will in my lifetime. I think the PC's fortunes will continue wax and wane the way it always has, but in a lot of ways it's a very different market. Of course there are always crossover titles that do well both on console and PC, but certain gamestyles are just inherently better suited to a particular format, I feel.
(Und das ist wahr!)
