Ich dacht, ich schiel nicht richtig als ich diese News auf VE las. So ist tatsächlich das Spiel Zoo Tycoon in Micrsofts Auftrag bei Blue Fang in der Mache. Und wer es selbst nicht richtig glauben kann, der sollte ich mal lieber die Preview (engl) auf loadedinc.com mit 8 neuen Shots anschauen. Das Spielziel wird es sein, einen profitablen und sauberen Zoo, den die Besucher mögen, aufzubauen.

At some point in your childhood you were probably dragged around the city zoo to look at all the lovely animals being held against their will. Coming soon from Microsoft and Blue Fang Games is Zoo Tycoon, a game that will put you in control and make you the overseer of your very own zoo. As the title of the game suggests your main goal is to create a profitable yet clean and fun place for visitors to view creatures outside their natural habitat.

Playing the game

The game is played out in an isometric view with the side menus split into different categories. The menu system is actually very well done and easy to use. It’s clean and highly intuitive, always a real plus in games of this genre. The menu is divided up into four main categories of animals, fences, staff and buildings and when clicked pop up a sub menu of objects you can place. This system means the gamer gets the best view possible of the playing area keeping everything nice and uncluttered.

In Zoo Tycoon you’ll have to think of everything to keep the zoo ticking over without a hitch. To create the ultimate animal viewing experience you’ll have to not only place essential items for the visitors to use like toilets and refreshment stands but you’ll also have to place the exhibits and purchase the animals. The game will feature around 175 zoo habitat and zoo building selections so there’s a lot to learn, getting combinations of animals and habitats just right will take some practice.
