Westwood Interview
Auf Nextgame.it gibt es ein Interview (engl) mit Brett Sperry dem Präsidenten und Mitbegründer von Westwood Studios.
Nextgame.it: When do you think we will assist to the revolution of the gaming interface? Are we going to use game pads and keyboard mouse for the years to come or, finally, a new kind of man-to-game interface will raise to our attention? Which directions would you take if you were in charge of developing such peripherals?
Brett W. Sperry: Peripherals that ship with hardware can make a difference. We will be "stuck" with keyboards and mice, or joysticks until systems universally accept a new standard. In the mean time, we can and do support other, better interface devices. If I had my way as a designer, a system would ship with 3D glasses set to display two frame buffers on the video card at monitor refresh rates for crystal clear 3D and would have a data glove with mild kinetic feedback in addition to "common" input devices. If I was in charge of developing peripherals I would be focusing on color and shape changes to existing peripherals since that is a better business decision. :)
